Staying warm in winter
Living in cold and damp conditions is not good for you whatever your age or circumstances. It is particularly bad for you if you have a health problem, like a breathing difficulty or heart problems.
Health Through Warmth (HTW) is a scheme that aims to help improve levels of warmth, comfort and quality of life for vulnerable people.
HTW helps people to get grants to insulate lofts and cavity walls. It also can also help with boiler repairs and replacements, heating appliances, eg fires, and advice on benefits and energy efficiency.
Who can use the service?
HTW can help anyone who is vulnerable and lives in cold and damp property. It is not just for the elderly or people in receipt of benefit. For example, you might be a family with young children or living alone on a very low wage.
How to use the service
Contact the local coordinator, Leanne Patel on 0121 561 3845, during office hours Monday to Friday, or visit the Health Through Warmth website.
You can call on behalf of someone if you are a carer or know someone who could benefit from HTW’s help.
