Emergencies and urgent care

The NHS provides a range of services to help deal with your immediate health needs. Do try to choose the right service for the situation.

  • A&E (Accident and Emergency) is for people with serious injuries or illness requiring immediate treatment.
  • Urgent care centres offer a range of treatments, and have short waiting times. There are urgent care centres in Warren Farm, Kingstanding, and Washwood Heath, Saltley. There is also a walk-in centre on Erdington high street.
  • Walk-in centres provide fast access to health advice, emergency contraception and treatment or minor ailments, infections, or minor injuries.
