Out-of-hours telephone
Birmingham patients in need of urgent out- of-hours dental treatment should should call the main NHS Direct Number 0845 4647.
Patients who cannot be seen by their family dentist and meet the criteria for urgent out-of-hours care are asked to ring 0845 4647 to book themselves an evening or weekend appointment.
If you need urgent dental care during the daytime, please call your own dentist using the details on NHS Choices.
Note that you must provide proof of exemption when seeing the dentist, otherwise you may be charged.

The NHS services provided by dentists depend on local needs and the contract agreed with NHS Birmingham East and North PCT. Some dentists may continue to provide a mixture of NHS and private care.
