Washwood Heath Health and Wellbeing Centre – under construction
The Washwood Heath Health and Wellbeing Centre is a primary care centre in Washwood Heath, currently under construction and due to open to the public in June 2011.
It will house GP practices, community health services, a community café and welfare and employment service. Washwood Heath Health Centre (also known as Oakleaf Medical Centre) and Washwood Heath Urgent Care Centre will move into the Washwood Heath Health and Wellbeing Centre once it is finished.
Services and facilities
The new centre will provide accommodation for:
- GP practices (total combined list size of up to 15,000 registered patients)
- Urgent Care Centre
- Community Café
- Welfare and Employment Centre
- Pharmacy
- Health Visitors
- District Nurses
- School Nurses
- Physiotherapy
There is also space in bookable activity and clinical rooms for the following services;
- midwifery
- continence
- orthopaedic triage
- pain management
- mental health services
- dietetics
- family planning

Opening times
It is planned that the centre will open from Monday to Sunday, 8am to 9pm.
How to use the service
- For the GP practice: If you are a registered patient of the practice, please telephone for an appointment.
- For community health services: Each service has its own referral process.
What if I can’t use the service?
- For the GP practice: Contact NHS Direct, your local pharmacy, the urgent care services, or use the emergency health contacts.
- For community health services: If you are not sure who to contact, please contact NHS Birmingham East and North to discuss your situation.
