I just wanted to say a very very big Thank You to everyone at the Dove centre especially Dr Gabriel, the absolutely wonderful district nurses & Macmillans & the pharmacist Rav (who knew my parents very well & treated them with such respect, care & concern for many years. for all your help, support & understanding when my father Oliver Lawlor passed away January 2009 my Mother Joyce Lawlor passed away July 2010. In this I include the receptionists too as they understood my anxiety & impatience each & every time I ran in there in a panic.
We couldn’t have asked for a better team of professionals who treated & cared not just the patients but the whole family (and there are a lot of us) like one of their own.
We cared for both parents at home until the end & we feel that with the support of all of you we helped our parents to pass away peacefully & with the dibnity they deserved.
I just want to add here that our trials are sadly not over as one of my brothers has been diagnosed with stage T3 N2 non small cell lung cancer & again we are recieving help (from Sandwell this time) & can only hope they give his family the same support that you all gave us. He is feeling very positive because he feels he will get the same care & support that our parents recieved from all of you.
God bless you all & Thank you again from the bottom of my heart
Sue Ballard (Australia) & all the Lawlor family
