Podiatry

Patient receiving foot treatment

The Podiatry service provides client centred care and aims to be the first choice service for problems affecting the feet and lower limb. The service provides expert assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education and advice on disease, deformities and pathologies of the foot and lower limb.

Treatment is focused on the relief of symptoms, improvement of foot function and enabling better mobility with the aim of maintaining independence and well-being and so improving quality of life.

Specialist interventions are available such as minor surgery under local anaesthetic, biomechanics and the provision of orthotics, wound care and management of Diabetes. Treatment planning is focused towards supporting the independence and empowerment of the individual by providing foot health education and advice and promoting self care.

As-well-as offering care at home we are also able to arrange for house bound patients to attend clinics through partnership with the West Midlands Special Needs Transport Service.

Podiatry is a low cost, high volume, clinically effective service, which is absolutely fundamental to maintaining a mobile, independent and healthy population.
