Louise Pritchard

Louise PritchardLouise Pritchard is Director of Performance and Organisational Development.

Her key responsibilities are to ensure the delivery of overall performance and organisational development in the trust across a population of over 440,000.

Louise led the World Class Commissioning assurance preparation process in 2008-09 and was co-author of the Organisational Development Plan. She is also responsible for Human Resources, Process Improvement, Communications and Patient and Public Involvement, Information Services and Business Planning, including Emergency Planning.

Appointed as Director of Service Operations for Birmingham East and North Primary Care Trust (now known as NHS Birmingham East and North) in 2006, she has frequently worked across organisational boundaries, both with social care and secondary care on various service redesign projects.

Her team’s integrated provision of Intermediate Care Services and cost effective partnership working was recognised nationally by the Health Service Journal awards in 2007.

Educated in Kent, Louise joined the NHS in 1987 after graduating in Social Policy at Brighton University. Following experience in management posts in Primary Care and Community Health Services in London, she moved to the West Midlands in 1995, working in both Community and Mental Health Services whilst undertaking an MSc in Primary Care Policy and Management at the HSMC in Birmingham.

In 2001 she was appointed as the lead director to set up Walsall as a primary care trust from six predecessor organisations before being appointed as Director of Primary Care and Community Services with Eastern Birmingham Primary Care Trust in 2002. As part of this role she assumed interim responsibilities for the Commissioning of Primary Care services including the implementation of the new GP contract in 2004 and the new dental contract in 2006.
