• More user and patient involvement/engagement
• Clinicians focusing on management may lose clinical time
• Pay may be an issue
• Systemic problems already exist – how will those be addressed?
• Who will manage the broader strategic picture?
• Concerns about process of change
• Loss of managerial skills

Differences

• Patients making choice – is this a threat or an opportunity – what are the benefits of choice
• Market development for NHS – prevention doesn’t seem to come through
