Birmingham Health and Wellbeing Partnership

Birmingham Health and Wellbeing Partnership logoThe Birmingham Health and Wellbeing Partnership (BHWP) is one of the seven core partnerships working with Be Birmingham, the local strategic partnership. The BHWP’s core partners are the three NHS Primary Care Trusts and City Council of Birmingham.

Working with a wider set of Partnerships across the city, primarily through quarterly summits, its purpose is to reduce health inequalities, enable people to achieve better health outcomes and experience a better quality of life.

Since September 2007 the BHWP has undertaken work on determining its priority outcomes for the people and places of Birmingham. Taking into consideration key local and national drivers, the partnership identified five priority themes:

  • Tackling Health Inequalities

  • Personalisation and Wellbeing
  • Joint Commissioning
  • User Engagement/Needs Assessment
  • Children’s Issues

Each priority theme is led by a member of the Executive and is underpinned by a number of work streams to reflect our priority outcomes.
