NHS BEN

Performance Team

The Performance Team monitors and manages the performance of the organisation against targets which are set by the Department of Health, the Strategic Health Authority and Local Targets which the trust has set for itself.

The team works with staff in NHS Birmingham East and North to help them meet these targets.

It informs the Trust Board of progress that is being made with these targets and how we are meeting the health needs of the local population.

The Performance Team produces a monthly Board Report and scorecard which outlines progress, and gives some explanation about the actions that the PCT is taking to meet the targets.

The team is also responsible for making sure that the trust meets standards around clinical care in hospitals and local health services.

It also monitors and declares the organisation’s compliance against the standards set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), Audit Commission, and Department of Health.

The Performance Team coordinates inspection visits from the CQC and Audit Commission, and reports results to the Board.

It also monitors the contracts the trust has in place with hospitals and other providers to ensure that we are getting good value for money, as well as high standards of care for patients.

The Performance Team works very closely with the Information Team.
