Procurement of a Hub & Spoke Recovery Day Services

NHS Birmingham East & North, Heart of Birmingham Teaching PCT and NHS South Birmingham are seeking to commission a Joint Mental Health Commissioning service for the provision of a Hub & Spoke Recovery Day services for adults 18+ with functional mental health problems. The prospective provider will deliver a service encompassing suitable facilities and staff to deliver a range of activities and interventions as per the service specification which will increase social inclusion, vocational opportunities, reduce isolation, and promote recovery for people with mental health problems.

The PCT wish to receive expressions of Interest and responses from suitably qualified and experienced providers with the necessary capacity and capability to provide the services outlined in the Memorandum of Information (MOI).

…as well as considerable experience of working with the recovery and social inclusion of people with severe mental illness is essential.

The successful organisation must be able to demonstrate that it can provide evidence of their partnership working within the context of Health and Social Care Services and with appropriate third sector organisations. They should be able to provide sufficiently trained workers with experience of working with a variety of agencies and within a multi-disciplinary approach, with the skills to deliver an appropriate programme of interventions to people accessing the service as well as working with other people involved in the overall care plan e.g. families, statutory teams, care homes etc.

The contract is due to commence on 1st April, 2012 for a period of 3 years with an option to extend for a further 12 months.
